Preventive Care for Your Child's Teeth

Preventative care for your child can keep cavities away! Oral health is important for your child's overall health.

Encourage your child to maintain proper dental hygiene by helping them form morning and evening routines. Your child should brush their teeth twice daily to remove plaque, bacteria, and food from their mouth.

You can assist your child to floss around the age of four and make it a part of their daily routine. This is an important part in keeping your child's gums healthy. Decreasing the amount of sugar intake your child has is also beneficial in maintaining good oral health, and preventing cavities.

Dental sealants are also a good idea, especially for molars. This coat will seal off grooves and prevent cavities in your child's teeth. Make sure your child has regular check ups with the dentist, around every six months is enough. It is important for your child to see a dentist regularly. Regular check ups will promote strong oral health, and catch a cavity early if one occurs.
